Awesome Opening Night and Window Chalk Reviews

Last night was the Neanderthal Arts Festival opening night and it was a huge success!  We were a little nervous because we knew the fireworks were happening near English Bay and that is always a huge party for the West End of Vancouver.  But, as the evening rolled on, it was obvious that we really had nothing to worry about because people just kept coming!

The audiences were big, the shows were ready and waiting, and the Neanderthal organizers were out and about schmoozing it up with audience members and getting some great feedback.  One thing I wanted to point out was the instant reviews that people were able to write on the windows in the Cultch lobby.  We provided some window markers for people to leave their thoughts on the windows for others to read - and we got a lot of comments about the various shows.

My favourites were:

  • "Tiny Replicas has amazing writing and performances. Don't miss it!"
  • "4H - Dead funny!"
  • "4H is worth the price of admission! Funny!"
  • "Tiny Replicas: Brillant show with great writing!"
  • "4H - Hilarious!"

You can't get better reviews than that.  Keep writing them down when you come out of your next show!

I would like to thank everyone who came out on a Wednesday night to check out the shows and many of you stuck around for afterwards and chatted the night away.  Tonight will be just as cool and I hope that everyone is ready for the weekend.  We have a bunch of things planned like a photo booth on Friday, Neanderthal costume competition on Saturday and BBQ on Sunday.  Don't miss out!
